The Beauty Edit: Reine Michi Moisturizing Sugar Scrub

Reine Michi Moisturising Sugar Scrub Body scrubs have been part of my life since my early teens. Sugar. Coffee. Walnut. Apricot. Lemon. Yam. Seaweed. I’ve tried them all. One thing I do enjoy is making my own DIY body scrub experimenting with various ingredients.

Why do I use scrubs?

Scrubs have various benefits for our skin. But what they all have in common is removal of dead skin cells that is the primary cause behind a dull skin appearance. Depending on the ingredients used, scrubs have many benefits:

  • Exfoliation results in smooth skin (Ladies. This means no more ashy looking elbows and knees)
  • Improves the appearance of the skin and gives a subtle healthy glow
  • Reduces the appearance of pores & acne scars.
  • Helps with ingrown hairs and eases the process of hair removal
  • Enables moisturizers to work better
  • Beneficial in reducing cellulite
  • Makes you feel good!

Sugar scrub of the month: Reine Michi Sugar Body Scrub

Introducing Reine Michi Beauty. A brand that prides itself in it’s ethical practices and use of natural ingredients

We believe the key to amazing and glowing skin is to keep it simple. Our products are handmade in small batches from natural and ethically sourced ingredients. The goods we create are designed to feed and nurture the skin. They are also non-toxic and provide a holistic approach to daily skincare rituals

The moisturizing sugar body scrub – an all natural face and body scrub made using 3 main ingredients: Sugar, Coconut Oil and Essential Oil (Lavender).

What I really admire about this particular sugar scrub is how every ingredient has a purpose. The sugar granules in the scrub really help in deeply exfoliating the dead skin cells and getting rid of ingrown hair (particularly those painfully annoying ones on the legs). The coconut oil softens and moisturizes the skin, giving it a healthy glow. The Lavender essential oil serves to relax your senses and help you unwind & destress.

All you need to do is apply the sugar scrub on damp skin. Rub it gently on to the areas you’d like to exfoliate. Rinse. Et voila, soft, glowy skin. You don’t even have to moisturize after it. The best part about this scrub is it delivers all the goodness mentioned above!

If you are like me, natural beauty & skincare products will always have a special place in your heart. Not only are they are good for your body, but they contain ingredients that will help improve your skin’s condition without any side effects. It’s good for the environment too!
