Monthly Goals {June 2017}

It’s June, we are half way through 2017!

May passed in a blink of an eye however, it was definitely a productive and reflective month. As mentioned in my last monthly update post, May was all about trying to set my priorities straight again. It wasn’t easy to achieve all that I wanted to, but I tried my level best, and I’m glad to say that some progress has been made in more than one aspect. The important thing to take note of is that we should always strive to improve ourselves one small step at a time.

Any small progress is better than no progress!

June is here, and so is the first week of Ramadan. Ramadan is a special month to all muslims around the world. It’s the time of year where we really focus on our spirituality and strengthen our relationship with God. During Ramadan, Muslims around the world fast from sunrise to sunset as a practice to help understand the sufferings of those less fortunate. Ramadan is also the month where we are encouraged to give more to those in need and help in any way possible.

June Goals:

Forgive & move on

My dream has always been to wake up everyday with a heart full of happiness and positivity. Although this is something I’ve wanted for the longest time, I no understand is that we have to work our way to happiness and positivity. The first thing that I need to work on is the art of forgiveness.

Forgive all those that have deeply hurt you with their words or actions and learn to let go of all the negativity you hold towards them.

Focus on spirituality

One of the most important connections in this world is the one we all have with our creator, followed by that of our parents and siblings. Ramadan is the best month to reflect on our actions and focus on aligning our actions with our religious teachings. Inner peace comes when you’ve established a good relationship with God and are constantly working towards becoming a better person.

Ramadan is the month of worship. Invest some of your time towards becoming a better muslim.

Health come first

With Ramadan comes fasting. Hopefully this year I will be able to really focus on self control when it comes to food served on the Iftaar table.  One of this month’s goals would be to eat healthy during Ramadan and get the ultimate benefit of intermittent fasting.

Eat food with the highest nutritional value rather than food with flavor. Stay hydrated at all times!

Hit the gym

The month of Ramadan should not be an excuse for a lazy lifestyle. Eating food with nutritional value along with moderate exercise would help our bodies clean out all the built up toxins and recover from all the damages we’ve caused with our unhealthy eating habits. Ramadan is actually a great opportunity for those interested in jumpstarting their health journey and losing a few kilos.

 Eating healthy, staying hydrated and moderate exercise during the day to help improve your health

Wishing all my muslim friends and followers a very blessed Ramadan! What are your goals or points of focus for the month of June? Let me know in the comment section below ?
