A visit to Rituals Cosmetics

Last weekend, I got the chance to visit the Ritual Cosmetics Store in BurJuman. Ever since I got the travel size version of the Happy Buddha foaming shower gel in my previous Glambox, I knew I had to get some more, and possibly do some damage to my wallet cause let’s be honest, when do I not!

The aesthetics of the store is right up my alley. For an entire hour ( yes, I spent an hour inside the store ) I felt like I was back in the Island of Bali, soaking up its natural beauty and enjoying it’s relaxing spas. The dim lights and combined aroma of all the products was enough to make me forget about everything outside the store.

To be honest, I really thought that I’d come out of the store with another Happy Buddha Foaming Shower gel, but that didn’t happen thanks to the product trial area that they had. It’s really nice when brands offer clients to try out body care products this way as you really get to experience it before committing to purchase. Also the staff were super helpful, they kept recommending products based on the scents that appeal to each client, and they don’t just force you to buy as much as possible.

What I love about Rituals is that they managed to give us the privilege of a 5 star at home spa experience. I’ve come to the realization that you can only do so much with body care products that are usually found in your typical stores like Carrefour, Union Coop etc. Their products are predominantly the same and boring. With foaming shower gels, foaming shower oils and heavenly scented body scrubs, Rituals Cosmetics just gave your at home spa experience a major upgrade. The thing that stands out the most is the noticeable pattern in their collections. Below are my top 3 Rituals collections.

The Ritual of Dao Collection.

Following the ancient Chinese philosophy, the collection is all about achieving the perfect harmony between Yin and Yang. Focusing on nourishing your Yin energy, the Ritual of Dao collection helps you find inner peace and tranquility in your busy life.

The White Lotus & Yi Yi Ren collection inspired by traditional Chinese medicine will definitely allow your skin to find harmony with its relaxing fragrance. This collection is to die for, it’s fragrance is so light yet refreshing; I always feel like I’m floating on a very happy cloud when I wear the Calming Bed & Body Mist. The mist along with the shower gels and body scrub are an absolute must have! Trust me on this one. I find that this collection also improves the quality of my sleep. A warm shower right before bed with the body scrub or the shower gel really calms me down and helps me unwind resulting in a very relaxed night

The Ritual of Sakura Collection.

The beautiful annual flowering of the Cherry Blossom, or Sakura has been celebrated by the Japanese for many centuries. It marks the awakening of nature and symbolises that beauty is momentary and life must be enjoyed. Inspired by this tradition, The Ritual of Sakura collection blends the sweetness of Cherry Blossom with nourishing Organic Rice Milk, to make each day feel like a new beginning.

The fragrance of this collection is sweet yet supple enough to constantly make me feel that everyday is filled with hope and positivity. I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that the quality of your shower makes or breaks your day. There are certain scents that just work, and this one definitely does. This should explain why I ended up with the foaming shower gel, foaming shower oil and the body scrub :p

The Ritual of the Laughing Buddha.

The Laughing Buddha was a famous monk whose legendary smile brought happiness. This collection was built upon the inspiration of uplifting products that celebrate his positivity. Infused with Sweet Orange and the mood enhancing power of Cedar Wood, the Laughing Buddha collection brings a touch of happiness to your everyday life.

The sweet cirtusy scent of the Orange combined with the Cedar Wood is the perfect combination for a happy day filled with positivity and new hope. I’m sure many would agree that citrus fruits in general have a way to uplift your mood and give your body the burst of energy it needs to carry on with the rest of the day. I particularly enjoy this collection on early mornings when I have a lot to do and so little time to spare. It’s the small things in life that make all the difference really.

The other rather interesting collections that have caught my attention during my last visit have been the:

  • Rituals of Ayurveda which was inspired by the ancient Indian philosophy of restoring inner harmony through the old practice of cleansing and nurturing your body and soul.
  • Rituals of Hamam was inspired by the oldest cleansing traditions in the world. This steam bath experience from the East purifies both body and soul.

I’ve honestly fallen in love with each and every one of Rituals Collections. Some are better than others, but in all fairness, they all have a unique way of uplifting my mood and/or help me unwind and relax after a long day. I do see my self recommending Rituals to anyone, just give their products a shot, they are worth it ( and you will probably want to thank me after you’ve tried them out ;p )
